Aira is a remote, on-demand visual interpreting service that connects people who are blind or have low vision with trained, professional agents via a smartphone app or compatible smart glasses.
How It Works
1. Launch the Aira Explorer app on your phone or use Aira-enabled Smart Glasses
2. Tap to connect with a live, trained Aira agent.
3. The agent views your surroundings through your camera and provides real-time assistance—reading, navigating, identifying items, and more.

Many universities and institutions offer Aira access for free on-site. Examples include:
• Syracuse University — free coverage across campus (with both on- and off-campus use for affiliated users)
• Oregon State University — free Aira usage on all main sites for students, staff, faculty, and visitors; some users get extended off-site use
